On September 26, 1921 —  Babe Ruth hits home runs number 57 and 58 plus a double and a walk to beat the Indians, 8 – 7, and the Yankees take a two-game lead. George Burns adds a triple and three singles for New York in the come-from-behind win. The Indians load the bases in the 9th inning but Steve O’Neill strikes out on a Carl Mays fastball in the dirt to end it.
