On November 2, 1955 — The Pittsburgh Pirates name Bobby Bragan as their new field manager, replacing Fred Haney. Things will not go well for Bragan, he will go 102 – 155 and be fired in the 1957 season. He will be replaced by Danny Murtaugh, he will manage the Pirates over 15 seasons over 21 years will lead the Pirates to 2 World Championships and his teams will play .540 baseball.
