On September 5, 1985 — 1985 – Boston’s first two batters – Dwight Evans and Wade Boggs – crack homers off Cleveland’s Neal Heaton in Boston’s 13 – 6 win in game 1. Evans adds another home run to back Oil Can Boyd’s first win in seven weeks. Cleveland wins the nitecap, 9 – 5.
