On June 12 2001 —  Gary Sheffield of the Los Angeles Dodgers becomes the first player in major league history to win three 1 – 0 games in a season with a home run, when he hits a solo shot to beat Atlanta, 1 – 0. Previously, Sheffield also supplied the only scoring by homering against Milwaukee on April 2nd and Florida on May 7th.
