On August 16, 1915 — At Boston, Smoky Joe Wood fires a 1 – 0 shutout over Washington. The Nationals have lost all 11 games at Fenway Park this year. Bert Gallia is the hard luck loser allowing only 2 hits to the Red Sox, Wood allowed 5 hits and walked 2. Wood improves to 14-4, Wood won’t pitch again until September and will never be the same pitcher again, finishing the season 15-5, Wood only 25 at the time will never win a game after the 1915 after  season.
