On September 27, 1963 — At Colt Stadium, Colt .45s skipper Harry Craft starts an all rookie team which includes future stars such as Joe Morgan, Rusty Staub, Jimmy Wynn, and Jerry Grote. The freshman team, whose average age is 19-years and 4 months old, loses to the Mets, 10-3, with 17 year-old starting pitcher Jay Dahl making his only major league appearance.
