On May 7, 2005 — At the age of 46 years and 257 days old, Julio Franco of the Atlanta Braves becomes the second-oldest player in big league history to homer. Jack Quinn, a pitcher who accomplished the feat when he was 100 days older, hit a home run for the A’s on June 27, 1930.
