On November 21, 1991 — Atlanta BravesĀ third basemanĀ Terry Pendleton, who hit .319 with 22 home runs and 86 RBI, wins theĀ National League MVP Award. Pendleton surprisingly out-distances runner-upĀ Pittsburgh PiratesĀ outfielderĀ Barry BondsĀ (.292, 25, 116).

Pendelton raised his batting average over 80 points from last season, will lead the Braves past the Pirates and Barry Bonds and to the World Series which was one of the most classic 7 game series in history,
