On July 16, 1920, Babe Ruth of the New York Yankees breaks his own single-season record for most home runs. The “Bambino” slugs his 30th home run in a 5-2 win over the St. Louis Browns, surpassing the 29 that he had hit the previous season. Ruth will finish the 1920 season with 54 home runs.
