On July 11, 1902 Bid McPhee resigns as Cincinnati Reds manager and is replaced by interim manager Frank Bancroft. In 1901 McPhee led the Reds to a 52-87 record, in 1902 the Reds were 27-37. McPhee will not manage again.
McPhee was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000 as a selection of the Veterans Committee. He was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame in 2002
