July 14, 1963 – At the Polo Grounds the Houston Colt’s sparked by a three-run triple by John Bateman, hustled in 7 runs in the first inning in route to an 8-3 rain-shortened victory over the New York Mets. The game was suspended after Frank Thomas homers in the 8th. The second scheduled game will be re-scheduled.

The loss was the 15th in a row for the Mets. Al Spangler led the game off with a home run and veteran Skinny Brown who pitched the complete game drove in the 7th and final run in the first. Wynn who singled in the first also homered in the 5th for the Colts.
