Dustin Pedroia hit his first career home run

September 9, 2006, at Fenway Park, Dustin Pedroia hit his first career home run, he became the first Woodland High School graduate to homer in the big leagues. Two former Woodland students made it to the majors before Pedroia, Mike Griffin & Tony Torcato, but neither one went deep. Pedroia who was hitting .136 at the time hit his shot off Hudson in the 4th inning of a 10-4 extra inning loss to the Royals.

Pedroia will go on to win the Rookie of the Year in 2007 and lead the Red Sox to their second title in 3 years.
