On April 4, 1994 — Eddie Murray becomes baseball’s all-time leader in games played at first base, manning the position in 2,369 major league contests to surpass the mark set by Jake Beckley, a Hall of Famer whose career spanned from 1888 to 1907. After the top of the first inning, the 38 year-old Indians infielder carries the bag off the field to keep as a souvenir.
