The Detroit third baseman, who received 23 of 30 first-place votes to finish ahead of Mike Trout and Chris Davis, joins Hal Newhouse (1944-45) and Hank Greenberg (1935, 1940) as the only players to win the prestigious award twice while playing for the Tigers.
