On April 4, 1988 — In a 10-6 victory over the Expos, Kevin McReynolds and Darryl Strawberry each hit a pair of home runs, helping the Mets to establish an Opening Day record with six homers. The ‘Strawman’s’ second shot, estimated at 525 feet, hits above the dome’s light rim and is believed to be the longest dinger ever stroked at Olympic Stadium.
