Willie Mays hits his 534th career home run ties him with Jimmie Foxx for most career home runs hit by a right-handed batter

On August 16, 1966 — At Candlestick Park In a 3-1 San Francisco Giants win over the St Louis Cardinals, Willie Mays hits his 534th career home run. The ‘Say Hey Kid’s’ third inning round-tripper off Al Jackson ties him with Jimmie Foxx for most career home runs hit by a right-handed batter in major league history. Gaylord Perry picks up his 19th win improving his record to 19-2.
