The all-time hit leader, however, is not forgotten as Tom Browning paints Rose’s uniform number 14 on the pitcher’s mound after the game with red spray paint and, as home plate is dug up and to be delivered next door to Great American Ball Park, the crowd begins to chant, “Pete, Pete”.
