On June 21, 1975 In the opener of a doubleheader, the Angels’ Frank Tanana strikes out 17 Rangers without a walk during a 4 – 2 win. Texas cops the nitecap, 6 – 5.
In game two of a doubleheader, the Potomac Nationals win 3 – 2 over the Winston-Salem Warthogs. The odd part of this is that Potomac is no-hit; they become the first Carolina League team since 1978 to win a game in which they do not get a hit. Potomac scores its runs in the 6th on an error, two walks, a passed ball by Billy Killian, two more walks and a fielder’s choice.

David Justice’s three-run homer propels the Yankees to their record 37th American League pennant in a come-from-behind victory over the Mariners, 9-7. The win sets up a Subway Series in New York for the first time in 44 years.
