On January 26 2001 — The June 8-10 (Arlington) and June 15-17 (Houston) interleague games between the Astros and Rangers will be known as the Lone Star Series. It will be the first time the two Texan teams have ever played one another during the regular season.

The Astros will take 2 of 3 in the first series & Texas will return the favor the following week, splitting the first series 3-3.
