Jerry Grote sets Royals RBI record – straight out of retirement

On June 3, 1981, Jerry Grote of the Kansas City Royals sets a club record by driving in seven runs in a 12-9 win over the Seattle Mariners. Grote, who had been retired for two years before making the Royals out of spring training, collects three hits in four at-bats, including a grand slam, the homer run was his first since 1976.
