Jimmie Foxx hits his first career homerun

May 31, 1927,  at Shibe Park, 19 year old reserve catcher Jimmie Foxx hits his first career homerun off Urban Hocker in a 18-5 loss to the New York Yankees.

Foxx will be an established star by age 21 and he will become one of the greatest right handed power hitters in history.

He will be inducted into the hall of fame in 1951 with a total of  534 homeruns and a career 163 OPS+.
