NMay 4, 1925 At Yankee Stadium 25 year old rookie Lefty Grove records his first win pitching 4 innings in relief.

The Philadelphia a’s were down 7-6 entering the 9th when Max Bishop took another future hall of famer Waite Hoyt deep to tie the game and the A’s push across another run on a Max Bishop triple to take the lead. 

grove gives up 4 runs and improves his record to 1-1 he will finish his rookie season 10-12, and win 300 games over his incredible hall of fame career.
