Mets clout 6 homeruns on opening day

On April 4, 1988,  At Olympic Stadium, the New York Mets set an Opening Day record by clouting six home runs in a 10 – 6 win over the Montreal Expos. Kevin McReynolds and Darryl Strawberryeach hit a pair of homers and Lenny Dykstra and Kevin Elster both hit one apiece. One of Strawberry’s blasts is a monster as he propulses a Randy St. Claire fastball into the ether, smashing on the rim 160 feet above the playing field and 300 feet away in right field, the distance is approximately 525 feet.
