Nolan Ryan traded by the New York Mets

On December 10, 1971, the California Angels engineer one of the best trades in franchise history, acquiring Nolan Ryan in a five-player deal that sends shortstop Jim Fregosi to the New York Mets. Ryan will go on to win 324 games Strikeout a record 5,714 batters and hurl a record seven no-hitters, three of them coming with the Angels.

 Fregosi A six time all star (who’ll play third base as a Met) will provide little help for New York over 2 seasons.
