January 7th 1992 – Starter Tom Seaver and reliever Rollie Fingers, two of the greatest pitchers of their generation, are elected to the Hall of Fame by the Baseball Writers Association of America. Tom Terrific was the winner of 311 games, he receives the highest percentage in voting history, ninety-eight point eight percent. Fingers at the time was the all-time leader in saves and he also garnered 114 wins, many of them after multiple-inning relief stints. Pete Rose‚ ineligible because of his ban from baseball‚ receives fourty one write in votes.
