October 11, 1923 – At the Polo Grounds, after hitting his 2nd homer of the game, this one in the 5th inning, and crossing home plate, Babe Ruth is led to the Yankee dugout by batboy Eddie Bennet, and at the same time tipping his hat right and left to the cheering crowd during game 2 of the World Series.

Both homeruns came off New York Giants starter Hugh McQuillan. The Yankees won the game 4-2 and the series 4 games to 2.
