On June 27, 2007 Ryan Howard hits his 100th career home run in a 9 – 6 loss to the Reds. The shot against Aaron Harang makes him the fastest player in major league history to hit 100 homers, doing so in his 325th game.
Baltimore RF Frank Robinson is hurt in a second base collision with Al Weis, as the White Sox beat the Orioles, 5 – 0. Robinson suffers double vision and will miss 28 games.

Matt Harrison is helped by some clutch defense as the Rangers defeat the Yankees, 5 – 3, in New York. Harrison’s teammates tie an American League record by turning six double plays behind him, to move his record to 3-0 on the year; the pitcher starts two of the twin killings himself.

The Royals establish the longest losing streak by any big league franchise to play in Kansas City. Their 16th consecutive loss, an 11 – 3 decision to the Mariners, is one more than the 1884 Unions, the first team to play professionally in the “City of Fountains.”
