On April 29, 1989  – In the first Saturday night game at Wrigley Field, the San Diego Padres and the Chicago Cubs combine to make 11 errors: 6 by the Padres, 5 by the Cubs. San Diego wins 5-4. The Padres errors were made by – Mark Davis (1); Randy Ready (2); Roberto Alomar 3 (11); Garry Templeton (2). The Cubs – Ryne Sandberg 2 (3); Shawon Dunston (4); Curt Wilkerson (4); Gary Varsho (1).
