In a contest which features two reversed calls by the umpires, the Red Sox, three outs from being swept in Game 4, become the first team in baseball history after trailing the series 0-3 to force a Game 7. Curt Schilling, playing with a dislocated ankle tendon, turns in an outstanding pitching performance in Boston’s 4-2 victory over the Bombers in the Bronx ballpark, 4-2.

At Milwaukee’s Miller Park, Mark Bellhorn becomes the first National Leaguer and joins Carlos Baerga as the only other switch-hitter to homer from both sides of the plate in the same inning.
