On ,December 10 1925 — The A’s pick up veteran SS Bill Wambsganss from the Red Sox. He will never play another game at a pro level but goes on to play in over 400 minor league games putting in three good seasons in Double-A for the Blues.

Questions were raised about how long Wamby’s legs would hold up after his 1927 season–though one wonders why, since he batted .307 and was said to have saved or won at least five games with his pinch-hits.
