On March 20, 2006 — The Boston Red Sox trade pitcher Bronson Arroyo to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for outfielder Wily Mo Peña.

Arroyo will respond by leading the National League in innings pitched and making his only All-star Game. Arroyo will play for the Reds for Nine seasons and win 108 games including a career-high 17 in 2010.

Pena will have a decent 2006, hitting .306 in 84 games with 11 home runs, his 90 strikeouts in 304 At Bats were alarming. Pena will be traded in 2007 and continue on as a journeyman until retiring after the 2011 season. Never tallying more than 300 plate appearances after 2006.
