On September 6, 1971 — The Cards tip the Phillies‚ 2 – 1‚ as Lou Brock steals 4 bases. It is the second time that Brock has swiped 4 in one game; he’ll do it once more.

His Former teammate didn’t take the stole bases well and reportedly commented earlier when McCarver missed a pop up by the Birds dugout. Then after a couple inside pitches Brock and MCarver scuffled.

McCarver ejected after he landed two punches – so he won the fight but lost a place in the lineup – Brock stayed in.
