On September 15, 1902 — The trio of Tinker-to-Evers-to-Chance completes their first twin killing in a 6-3 win over Cincinnati at Chicago’s West Side Grounds. The Cubs’ legendary douple-play combination will be immortalized by the 1910 baseball poem by Franklin Pierce Adams, Baseball’s Sad Lexicon.
