On July 1, 1920, At Fenway Park, Walter Johnson no-hits the Boston Red Sox, 1-0. The Washington Senators’ ace strikes out 10 batters. Only an error by Bucky Harris with two outs in the ninth inning prevents Johnson from pitching a perfect game. but it’s the Senator second baseman’s hit which drives in the game’s only run. Johnson pitches the season’s only no-hitter yet Johnson comes up with the first sore arm of his life and is useless for the rest of the year, finishing 8-10.
