On January 14 1911 — The St. Louis Browns name star shortstop Bobby Wallace as their new manager. The future Hall of Famer will perform dual duties until 1912, when he will surrender his managerial position but continue as an active player. Wallace would also manage the Reds for 25 games in 1937, his overall record produced just a 28% winning percentage as a manager.

As a player after 1912, the 38 year old was used sparingly playing in only 144 games. He will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1953 based mainly on his exquisite glove work.
