On September 19, 1925 — 1925 – In St. Louis, the Cardinals roll over Brooklyn, 15 – 3, behind Wee Willie Sherdel. In the 7th inning, the Red Birds rub it in with two steals of home, tying a major league record. It’s the last time it’s been done in the National League. Oakland will steal home twice in the 1st inning on May 28, 1980.
