Mark Reynolds ties a major league record, held by five other non-pitchers, including Bo Jackson of the Royals in 1988, by striking out in nine plate consecutive appearances. The dubious streak comes to an end when Dave Bush hits the Diamondbacks’ third baseman with a pitch in the sixth inning in a 7-4 Brewer victory at Chase Field.
