On September 24, 1959 — 1959 – The Phillies P Humberto Robinson says that gambler Harold Friedman offered him $1,500 to throw a game with the Redlegs. The pitcher ignores him and hurls a 7 – 2 win. Friedman is held on bail. Commissioner Ford Frick later commends Robinson for promptly reporting to him.
