The last hit for L.A. is the first major league homer by Dave Ross, and it comes off Mark Grace, who pitches the 9th inning.

On a controversial play in the 8th, pinch-runner Daniel Nava appears to slide under the tag of catcher Jose Molinawith the game-tying run, but umpire Jerry Meals thinks otherwise. Manager John Farrell is ejected for arguing the call; after the game, Meals recognizes that he was wrong.
