Carlton Fisk wins the first unanimous AL Rookie of the Year

On November 21, 1972, Boston Red Sox catcher Carlton Fisk wins the first unanimous AL Rookie of the Year. Fisk batted .293 with 22 home runs and 61 RBIs for Boston. The 24 year-old Red Sox All-Star backstop will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000.
