Trailing 6 – 5 heading in the top of the 9th, Montreal scores three runs off Dave Giusti, but Bob Robertson hits a two-run pinch homer off Chuck Taylor to tie the game with two outs in the bottom of the 9th. The Expos manage to score three runs off a tiring Ramon Hernandez in the 13th, with a double by rookie 2B Jim Cox driving in the go-ahead run. Taylor is still on the mound to pitch the bottom of the 13th, his sixth inning of relief, and he sets down the Bucs in order to earn the win.

1993 – Toronto puts the game away with a three-run rally in the 7th inning at the SkyDome in Game 1 of the World Series, behind home runs by John Olerud and Devon White. Reliever Al Leiter gets the 8 – 5 victory against the Phillies.

October 16, 1993

1999 – Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones, who hit .319 with 45 home runs and 110 RBI, wins the National League MVP Award. Jones becomes the fifth Braves player to be so honored, joining Johnny Evers (1914), Bob Elliott (1947), Hank Aaron (1957) Dale Murphy (1982 and 1983) and Terry Pendleton (1991).

November 17, 1999

In the 3rd inning against the Reds, Giants OF Dusty Baker swipes second base, third, and home, garnering three of his four season steals. Baker swipes second, and the next batter walks, then gets caught in a rundown. Dusty steals third during the rundown and just keeps running. San Francisco wins 14 – 9, with Chili Davis adding a pinch grand slam in the 5-run 5th. Randy Lerch wins with a third of an inning of relief.
