Ron Leflore debuts

On August 1, 1974 Ron Leflore debut for the Detroit Tigers going 0-4 vs the Milwaukee Brewers. Leflore will go on to be a prominent player over the next several seasons making the 1976 All Star team. He will also become the first player to lead both leagues in stolen bases.   He was Incarcerated


With the Cards (54-50) toppling the Pirates, 5 – 2, in 11 innings, the Phils beat the visiting Expos to remain tied for 1st in the NL East. Del Unser’s three-run homer is the big blow in support of Wayne Twitchell’s 6th win in nine decisions. Ron Fairly has a homer, his 11th, for the Expos.
