The Phillies clinch the division during the last big league games at Jarry Park,

On September 26, 1976 – In the last big league games at Jarry Park, the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Montreal Expos, 4 – 1, in the first game of a doubleheader to clinch the National League East title. Philley takes the nitecap, 2 – 1, Dick Allen doesn’t play in the nightcap, bolting from the team to protest Tony Taylor not being placed on the postseason roster.

The Expos who entered the National League in 1969 have posted a home record of  554-734 (.431).  Rain postpones the planned fireworks at the end of the twin bill.
