On June 8 1981 — Seattle Mariners takes Mike Moore with the first pick overall in the annual amateur draft. The Chicago Cubs take Joe Carter with the 2nd pick while the Angels take Dick Schofield third.

He makes the team out of spring training in 1982 and spends 14 years in the big leagues.
