Orioles Sign Fred Lynn to a 5 year $6.8M Deal

On December 11, 1984, Fred Lynn signs with the Baltimore Orioles, a 5-year deal worth $6.8 Million. Hank Peters the Oriole GM will say”We think Fred is one of the better players in the American League.” Lynn when asked why did he sign with the Orioles, simple said”They had the best offer on the table”

Lynn will hit exactly 23 home runs for 3 straight seasons with the Orioles and get traded during the 1988 season to the Tigers, he had 18 home runs at the time.

He will have a slash line of – .265/.337/478/.815/ OPS+ 122 and a 7.6 WAR over 3+ seasons.
