On April 11, 1985 – At the Kingdome Gorman Thomas hits three home runs and drives in six runs to lead the Seattle Mariners to a 14 – 6 victory over the Oakland Athletics.

In the same game in the top of the sixth inning at the Kingdome, Dave Kingman hit a fly ball to left that struck a wire. The blast off Dave Geisel would have been a homer but instead was caught by Phil Bradley for the third out.
