On September 22, 1987 –Future Hall of Famer Wade Boggs collects his 200th hit for the fifth straight season in an 8 – 5 loss to the Detroit Tigers.

The Red Sox third baseman will reach the 200-hit mark for two more consecutive seasons before the streak ends in 1990.
