Hall of Fame umpire Jocko Conlan dies at the age of 89
On April 16, 1987, Hall of FameĀ umpireĀ Jocko ConlanĀ dies inĀ Scottsdale, Arizona, at the age of 89. Conlan served as anĀ American LeagueĀ arbiter fromĀ 1941Ā toĀ 1965Ā after a brief major league playing career with theĀ Chicago White Sox. He also umpired in fiveĀ World Series. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame inĀ 1974.
