In game 2 of a double header At Fenway Park, Boston Red Sox Nick Esasky takes Dave Johnson of the Baltimore Orioles deep. Esasky’s blast came in the bottom of the 4th, scoring Dwight Evans and Danny Heep.
The Red Sox will win the game 6-2.
Esasky, 29 at the time had a career year hitting 30 homeruns and driving in 108 runs. He finished 18th in MVP voting. Esasky however will catch vertigo and only play in 9 games after the 1989 season.
