The Royals send first baseman Wally Joyner and a minor league pitcher to the Padres in exchange for infielder Bip Roberts and a minor league pitcher.

1995 – Third baseman Sean Berry is acquired from Montreal for pitcher Dave Veres and catcher Raul Chavez. Berry helps Houston to two division titles. Chavez returns to the Astros organization in 2000, working his way into a backup role during 2004 and 2005 where he launched a home run in postseason play.
The Astros trade P Dave Veres and minor league C Raul Chavez to the Expos in exchange for 3B Sean Berry.
The Orioles sign free agent IF-OF B.J. Surhoff to a three-year contract.
1995 – The Padres sign free agent P Bob Tewksbury.
The Orioles acquire P Kent Mercker from the Braves in exchange for pitchers Joe Borowski and Rachaad Stewart.
